No Show & Insufficient Cancellation Policy

When an appointment is scheduled for a child at Peak Pediatrics, arrangements are made to care for that child. Staff is paid to be present, supplies are ordered, and the practice incurs costs related to that appointment. When the chid does not show up for the appointment, the office still incurs the same costs, but does not have an opportunity to be paid for the services. Because of this the following policy is necessary.

Peak Pediatrics requires 24 hours advance notice to cancel a WELL CHILD appointment, and a minimum of 2 hours to cancel a SICK/ACUTE appointment.

First Missed Appointment for the Family:

A reminder letter will be sent to the parent for the first missed appointment, and we will encourage rescheduling of the appointment.

Second Missed Appointment for the Family:

For a second missed or insufficiently cancelled appointment, in any 12 month period of time, there may be a "No Show" fee charge. This fee is $100 for a missed WELL CHILD appointment. The charge for a missed ACUTE/SICK VISIT is $50 for each 15 minute block of time that had been scheduled for the appointment. These fees will be applied regardless of which child's or children's appointment(s) were missed or insufficiently cancelled.

Third Missed Appointment for the Family:

A third missed or insufficiently cancelled appointment, in any 12 month period of time, may result in dismissal of all immediate family members from the practice. These fees will be applied regardless of which child's or children's appointment(s) were missed or insufficiently cancelled.

Exception:

If you have multiple children scheduled on the same day and miss appointments for more than one child, you will be charged separately for each missed appointment, but it will be regarded as a single event for purposes of letters and dismissal.
